| As the story goes the Manitou was at the
shipboard fire fighting school the week before we were and one of
her crew had a little altercation with a few squids, he won. We were not
very welcome when we showed up there. We had to tie up next to this
destroyer and cross over her to get to class everyday. Not summer camp
by any stretch of the imagination. We figured as a parting gift we
should leave our calling card.
Not as good as painting our name on her but, it was the thought that counts.
