The following were taken on the Spring Breakout mission to
Sault St. Marie, Mich. (Whitefish Bay)

Crossing Lake Huron in a storm, we reached the straits very ice laden. We hove to in the ice and "all hands on deck, and bring a hammer". We met the Mac and the Bramble in this joint mission.
Some of the  ice was 20 feet thick. (Photos supplied by Dan Ashlin)
